The Thumbnail gouge is unique in that it is a multiple sweep gouge. On the sides it works like a #3 and gets deeper as the tool is rotated to center.
Our fixed handle, Palm Tools are manufactured with a solid Ash handle and high carbon steel blades. These fixed handle tools allow for faster tool changes over the unhandled tools which need to be used with an interchangeable handle. All profiles are available individually.
Palm Tools are a good starting point for small projects such as caricatures, walking sticks or tableware. They fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and are shorter in length, offering better control since the cutting edge is closer to the controlling hand.
